RESOpt optimization solutions developed by Idener (Optimization Tools for Renewable Energy and Storage Systems) employ predictive control methodologies that are specially designed for integrated processes that combine renewable energy sources and storage systems, such as those based on hydrogen.
At the current stage in the development of alternatives to fossil fuels, even small differences in performance and/or costs can indeed determine the success or unfeasibility of new technologies. RESOpt optimization solutions corroborate these differences and, accordingly, two product lines have been created: the d-RESOptdevelopment packages and the i-RESOpt integration packages..
In the project’s first phase, the d-RESOpt development solutions constitute a tool that is fundamental in control strategy design. Programmed in MATLAB and LabVIEW environments, they have also proven to be very powerful tools in research and process development phases.
The i-RESOpt integration solutions include the hardware architecture necessary for implementation of d-RESOpt solutions, via OPC or embedded in SCADA systems, and are adapted to the specific characteristics of new alternative energy systems and their storage possibilities.
